Distinctive Features of
William Spelman Executive Search
• The firm is unique in that its primary mission is to establish a partnership with the client organization to identify, recruit, and assist the institution in hiring top leaders. Client service and satisfaction is a basic premise of our relationship.
• Diversity in candidate pool development is a prime focus for our firm. In recent searches, of candidates offered the position, over 51% have been women or individuals of color.
• Throughout the process, the client organization works with the President of the firm, who has over 30 years of experience partnering with institutions.
• The information gathered about candidates is confidential, timely, detailed, and presented in a manner that facilitates decision-making.
• The firm will not recruit any candidate who has been successfully recruited to a position with a client organization for as long as that individual is employed by the client organization. Further, for 12 months following a search, the professional staff in the same division as the newly-hired candidate will be off-limits for recruitment to other positions.
• If a successful candidate voluntarily withdraws or is terminated for cause within one year of the date of his/her acceptance of employment, William Spelman Executive Search will continue the search for a replacement candidate, waiving our fee and billing only for expenses associated with reopening the search.
• Through its sole sponsorship of the Senior Student Affairs Officers Symposiums for ACPA-College Student Educators International (ACPA), the firm remains current with the “best practices” of higher education.
• Successful search processes and closure continually bring clients back for additional searches for different positions.
