SUNY Brockport Welcomes New VP for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

Dr. Kathryn Wilson will be VP for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs

Brockport, NY – President John R. Halstead PhD has announced that Kathryn Wilson EdD, JD, has been named vice president for enrollment management and student affairs at the State University of New York College at Brockport.

“Dr. Wilson is an excellent fit to take SUNY Brockport to the next level in enrollment management and student affairs,” said President Halstead in a campuswide e-mail informing the SUNY Brockport community of Wilson’s appointment.

“I’m a strong believer in public higher education so I’m looking forward to joining the SUNY Brockport team and working with them to help prepare the next generation of young leaders,” said Wilson.

Wilson is currently the assistant vice president for student affairs at Minnesota State University at Morehead, where she oversees student judicial affairs, security, international programs, orientation, and the freshman year experience. She works closely with the President’s Office as MSUM’s point person for litigation. She earned her EdD degree in higher education administration and athletic administration from West Virginia University; and recently completed a juris doctor degree at the University of North Dakota School of Law.

Wilson has served for 20 years in virtually all areas of student affairs, recently acquiring additional enrollment management roles as the assistant vice president at Minnesota State University at Moorhead. MSUM is very similar in size and scope to SUNY Brockport. It is a member of the American Association of State Universities and Colleges (AASCU) with an enrollment of 7,650 students and a broad array of undergraduate and graduate offerings.

Dr. Wilson has been a key player on the Minnesota State University at Morehead’s executive team handling a wide variety of duties from gender equity/Title IX, to fund raising, student life policies, and alcohol education. She also has overseen the university’s emergency and crisis intervention plan. Her direct experience with students ranges from coaching to advising student government.

Dr. Wilson, who was selected followed an extensive national search, will assume her duties at SUNY Brockport on July 1.
