Cornell Welcomes New Director of Residential Programs
LeNorman J. Strong, assistant vice president for Student and Academic Services, has announced new directors in Campus Life's senior management team.
Joseph Burke is director of the new Residential Programs unit. Burke will oversee Residential Programs, which has been formed by combining the former Community Development, Graduate and Professional Student Housing, and Student Affairs and Diversity units within Campus Life. Residential Programs manages the entire living and learning experience of both undergraduate and graduate students living on campus.
He served as project director of the Office of Institutional Equity in the president's office at Ohio University for the past year and as director of residence life for 19 years before that. His 30-year career includes service as an administrator and faculty member at Ohio University, University of Toledo and Villanova University. Burke earned a B.A. in political science from Saint Francis College, a Master of Education degree in guidance, counseling and college student personnel and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Ohio University. |
