Re: Dean of Students
Date: May 1, 2006
We are very pleased to confirm that Marianne Calenda has accepted the college’s invitation to serve as Dean of Students. Ms. Calenda’s appointment will be effective July 1, 2006.
Ms. Calenda brings to this position experience gained through many years of service in student affairs at Thiel College in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Her most recent appointment has been as Associate Dean of Students and Co-Director of the First-Year Experience. Previously, she was responsible for Residence Life and also worked for several years in the college’s Office of Development.
Ms. Calenda is a collaborative and creative leader and a dedicated student advocate. She is a graduate of Thiel College and holds a master’s degree from Geneva College. She will move to the Elizabethtown area in the mid-summer, accompanied by both her husband and her son who is presently a junior at St. Francis College.
In announcing this appointment, I want to thank the members of the committee which guided this search. This includes: Joshua Andrzejewski, Kristina Doernte, James Felton, Maria Garcia, Laurie Gordon, Kirsten Johnson, Nancy Latimore, Troy McBride, Robert Mikus, Paula Orenstein, Stephanie Rankin and Ryan Zimmerman. The committee also was assisted by many members of the campus community in meeting with candidates during the campus visits. Many thanks to each of you.
