Brooklyn, N.Y. – Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus, one of the most diverse and dynamic campuses in the metropolitan region, has appointed a new dean of admissions. Provost Gale Stevens Haynes announced that Elizabeth Storinge now leads the admissions office for the Campus of more than 11,000 students.

“Beth Storinge brings experience and innovation that will fuel continued growth for the Brooklyn Campus,” Provost Haynes said, adding, “I am confident that she will make a tremendous contribution to current and future students of Long Island University.”

Dean Storinge joined the Brooklyn Campus at the start of the fall 2007 semester after heading the admissions office at Mount Ida College, a private liberal arts college in Newton, Mass., since 2004. Prior to that she was associate director of freshmen admissions at Northeastern University in Boston, joining the staff of that private institution in 1993. A native of Skaneateles, N.Y., she earned an M.S. in counseling and college student development at Northeastern University in 2003 and a B.A. in psychology at Ithaca College in 1993.

“I am thrilled to be part of this unique and vibrant urban campus,” declared Dean Storinge, adding, “It will be an honor to build on Long Island University’s tradition of excellence in Brooklyn.”.
