Hello everyone,
I’m happy to announce our successful search for Cal Poly's new Executive Director of Career Services. Eileen Buecher has accepted our offer and will relocate from Atlanta, GA to start this position on Monday, November 2, 2015. We’re so grateful to Martin Shibata who will work with Eileen during her first two weeks to help with her successful transition into this role!
Eileen brings 22 years leadership experience in higher education Career Services, spanning renowned private and public universities on the east coast (Carnegie Melon, Chatham University, University of North Carolina and most recently Emory University). She has strong expertise in career development, recruiting, counseling and direct success in building robust campus-wide employer relations programs.
Eileen is also known for her strong partnership with Alumni Relations to grow engagement through mentorship, networking and job development while providing ongoing support services to alumni throughout their careers. She has proven success in fundraising, corporate partnerships and sponsorships along with notable success in securing grants for service-learning, leadership development initiatives, technology advances and career program expansion.
Eileen's graduate degree in Student Personnel and Counseling Psychology was completed at Slippery Rock University, PA and throughout her career she has been selected to present at various national conferences to showcase her strategies and solutions for world-class Career Services, especially her work with international students.
