Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Gina M. Soliz will join Colgate University this summer as senior associate dean and director of financial aid.
With more than 20 years of experience, Soliz brings a wealth of financial aid and admission knowledge to Colgate. As director of financial aid at Syracuse University College of Law since 1999, Soliz has in-depth experience handling institutional aid for recruiting and retention strategies, complying with federal, state, and institutional policies. Soliz previously held roles of assistant director of financial aid at Le Moyne College, and assistant director of admissions and financial aid at Nichols College in Mass.
In addition, Soliz is caucus leader and a national conference program task force member with the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, a leading organization for aid professionals.
Soliz holds a BA in English and a MS in higher education administration from Syracuse University. She will initially work alongside retiring Financial Aid Director Marcelle Tyburski to ensure a smooth transition this summer.
I want to personally thank and commend search committee members John Collins, Renee Copperwheat, Frank Frey, Taurian Houston, Sue Dolly Lathrop, Robert Nemes, and Laura Wittchen for their exemplary work as we looked to fill this incredibly important role.
